Frequently Asked Questions

Have some questions about the team? Here are some answers we can provide!

Q: Do I have to lead a project?

Q: If I come up with a project idea, I have to lead the project, right?

Q: Who do I contact if I want to create a new project?

A: No! You can be a member of any projects that are established already.

A: Again, no! We like ideas and passion in the organization! Another member can lead it for you!

Q: When are the team meetings?

A: Jesus Ontiveros is our Director of Projects and would love to help assist you through this process. Send him an email at jmomdr@umkc.edu

Q: I’m busy and can’t make the team meetings… how do I still be a part of Enactus?

A: They are always Tuesday from 5:30-6:30 at the Bloch Executive Hall Room 331.

A: Glad you asked. Even if you’re unable to make it to the Tuesday meetings there are a handful of ways to get involved. We have various projects, initiatives, and committees that you can participate in. Click here to see the different meetings you can participate in outside of our general meetings! The trick is to just show up and stay updated! We love to see new and existing faces!

Q: What are Projects?

A: Projects are the backbone of Enactus. Each Enactus project had at least one UN 17 Global Goals that it is tackling through entrepreneurial action. Each project works towards specific needs within our community and beyond, whether it is reaching out overseas to provide a community with sanitary facilities and clean water, working with artists in KC to help achieve their artistic career goals, or simply educating high schoolers on real-life situations.

Q: Is there a limit for the number of projects I can be in?

A: You can only be in as many projects as we have. In other words, no! Most members participate in 2-3 projects.

Q: Do I have to be a part of a project?

A: No, you can join a committee if projects aren’t your thing! Although, we encourage you to join at least one.

Q: Are there fees?

A: Nope, Enactus won’t cost you a dime.

Q: So, I’m not a business student, can I still help make the world a better place?

A: Absolutely. Our team actually has more Engineering, Fine Arts, Architect, and Medical students than Business students! We welcome all majors!

Q: What is the difference between project hours and student hours?

A: Project hours are the number of hours you put in working on a project. Student hours are the time spent on Tuesday meetings, team events, working on your committee, or researching!
