Fashionnovation

Our Story

During the Fall 2021 Project Creation Series, we at UMKC Enactus noticed an increase in waste from clothing production. After a bit of digging, we found that 85% of clothing ended up in landfills, which results in major damage to the environment. Wanting to take action, our initiative was formed in order to reduce the effects of fast fashion.

Our goal is to reduce fashion waste by taking clothing that would normally be thrown away and repurposing it into commercial products. Our current prototypes include bags and pillows, both of which were created by using old t-shirts. We also looking into creating a variety of pet products, such as toys, pillows, and blankets to donate to animal shelters.
